Obituary

Roanoke Rapids,- It is with profound sorrow and grief that we the management and staff of Serenity Memorial Funeral Home join with the Parker and connected families to announce the earthly transition of Mr. Walter W. Parker. Mr. Parker entered into eternal rest surrounded by his loving family in Herndon, VA.

" Life Reflections "

Walter Wendell Parker was born on September 1, 1945, to the late Sallie Mae Smith and Walter Freeman Parker in Clinton, North Carolina,

Walter received his high school diploma from Grover Cleveland High School in Queens, NY. After graduating he discovered a passion for photography and enrolled in classed at Bronx Community College.

After he mastered photography, "Bro" discovered a passion for working on cars. He even enrolled in auto mechanic classes at Halifax Community College.

Throughout his life, "Bro" was inquisitive and wanted to master all he would be involved, so he would work various jobs until his retirement. But truth be told, he never truly retired, you would always see him working on a car or truck in front or backyard.

Walter loved life and was a happy, loving man with such a big heart. It was natural for him to accept all who came into his presence. He was always willing to listen ands known to give great advice. Family was everything to him and he loved spending time with all of his family. He was a father-figure who was responsible incasing many other children.

Our Beloved Walter Windell Parker made his earthly transition to his eternal heavenly home surrounded by his loving family at his daughter Shontrell's residence in Herndon, Virginia, on Sunday, May 30,2021.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, Richard Parker. He leaves to carry on his legacy his 5 children. Daughters: Michelle Parker (Bronx, NY) ; Shontrell Parker (Herndon, VA0; Lameka L. Parker (Roanoke Rapids, NC) His son: Shawn L. Parker (Shauna), Brooklyn, NY); Brandon J. Parker (Roanoke Rapids, NC).

Also mourning his loss are his sisters: Annie Ruth Parker (Warsaw, NC); Peggy Gay ( Faison, NC); Evonne Parker (Bronx, NY). His brothers: William H. Parker (Kim), (New York, NY) Barritt Parker (Diane), (New York NY) ; Merritt Parker (Sevierville, TN)

His 8 grandchildren; 3 Great-Grandchildren; 1 Goddaughter and a host of other family members & friends.

He also leaves 3 special women he was always grateful to for his children: Brenda Blackmon; Everlyn Hendricks & Janette Marie Jarrell.

He answered his Heavenly Father's call, "Well done thou good and faithful servant. Come up higher and enter into the joy of the Lord."
