Donald Lee  McCullough
It is with profound sorrow that we the staff and management of Serenity Memorial Funeral home announce the earthly departure of Mr. Donald Lee McCullough, 66, GoldsboroNC. Mr. McCullough entered into eternal rest at the Wayne UNC Health Care.


Mr. Donald Lee McCullough was born on May 19, 1952 in Queens, New York. He quietly took his earthly leave and went home to be with God on, October 5th, 2018. Donald was a kind-hearted, hard-working, educated gentleman. He was inducted in the U.S. Army at Fort Hamilton in Brooklyn, NY. Donald worked as a Crew Leader for Carolina Turkeys in Mount Olive, NC for many of years. He took care of his family including his late mother until she passed. He called himself “A Local Doctor & Judge!’ He would diagnose you even before you went to the doctor and would plead your case without court. Donald was raised in the church all his life. He attended Johnson Chapel United Holy Church of America where he served as a Deacon and lead the male chorus under the leadership of Elder Dexter Stevens of Dudley, NC. Donald was one of the “Original Spiritual Kings of Harmony” of Washington D.C and “The True Believers” of Goldsboro, NC. The Spiritual Kings of Harmony was well-known for a special song called the “Christian Run Express.” Through his singing career, he met and married the late Velma Grace Wade McCullough of “The Wade Sisters of Goldsboro, NC. They moved from Washington, DC to Goldsboro, NC and had a beautiful baby named Zsanequia Ni’chelle McCullough.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother Ms. Daisy L. McCullough and Stanley Mills, Jr. Donald was raised by his uncle William E. “Buck” McCullough.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his daughters: Zsanequia McCullough of Goldsboro, Victoria Turner of Washington D.C., Shinequia McCullough , Little Miss Donesha Marva McCullough of Goldsboro, NC and one son Master Isaiah Bass McCullough.

He also leaves his memories with his oldest brother: James E. McCullough, his sister Patricia Ann McCullough of Florida; several nieces and nephews; 8 great nieces and nephews; an abundance of cousins. Donald loved all of his of family but he had two special nieces that he always spoke of Mrs. Jeanine Parker and Ms. Talisha McCullough. A special Cousin whom he called his brother, singing partner and transporter Mr. Ted McCullough Sr. & all of his sons.


The family of Mr. McCullough will receive friends at the home of his daughter Zsanequia McCullough:
